Terms of Service
Welcome to Deepbring Express. By installing or using the app, creating an account, browsing products, placing orders, listing products, or managing a store, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. About Deepbring Express
Deepbring Express is a grocery marketplace and delivery platform operated in Tanzania. We connect customers with verified shop owners (stores) and facilitate order placement, delivery coordination, and related platform services. Deepbring Express is not the seller of store products unless we expressly say so for a specific listing.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration details. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Shop owner accounts are for people authorized to sell on behalf of a registered business. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.
3. Roles on the platform
Customers browse, order, and pay for groceries. Shop owners list products, manage stock and fulfillment, and may coordinate riders. Delivery personnel handle assigned deliveries. Admins operate platform rules, verification, fees, and reports. Different role rules below apply to you based on how you use the app.
4. Cash on delivery (current payment method)
Online card and mobile-money gateway checkout is not fully enabled yet. Until further notice, orders are fulfilled primarily through cash on delivery (COD). When you place a COD order, you agree to pay the full order total (items, transport fee, and Deepbring service fee) in cash to the delivery person or store representative at delivery, unless Deepbring confirms another method in writing. Fake orders, refusal to pay without a valid cancellation, or abuse of COD may lead to account limits or permanent ban.
5. Platform fees charged to customers
Checkout may include a transport (delivery) fee and a Deepbring service fee. Both are set by Deepbring Express administrators, not by individual shop owners. The service fee is platform revenue for Deepbring Express. Fee amounts shown at checkout before you confirm an order are the amounts you agree to pay for that order (subject to obvious pricing errors we may correct).
6. Orders, cancellations, and off-app completion
Orders placed in the app must be completed through Deepbring Express unless we authorize otherwise. It is a violation of these terms for a shop owner, rider, or customer to cancel, abandon, or redirect an in-app order in order to finish the same sale outside the app and avoid platform fees or volume partnership charges. Deepbring may investigate unusual cancel rates, repeated low-value orders, or patterns that suggest fee avoidance, and may suspend accounts, withhold verification, or pursue recovery of amounts owed.
7. Product information and availability
Shop owners are responsible for accurate prices, stock, images, and descriptions. Customers should review their cart carefully. Deepbring may hide unverified stores or remove listings that breach policy. Freshness and quality of perishable goods remain the responsibility of the selling store, subject to any consumer protections under Tanzanian law.
8. Privacy and location
We collect account details, order history, device identifiers for engagement insights, and location data when you grant permission (for delivery and nearby services). We use this data to operate and improve Deepbring Express, prevent fraud, and support customer service. Do not share another person’s personal data in the app without permission. See our Privacy Policy for details.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, Deepbring Express is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, delays caused by traffic or weather, or disputes solely between a customer and a shop about product quality after delivery, except where we fail duties we expressly take on. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Material updates may require you to accept a new version before continued use. Continued use after notice of updates constitutes acceptance when a fresh acceptance screen is not shown. For questions about these terms, contact Deepbring Express through our contact page or the support channels published in the app.
Shop owners
A. Shop owner verification
You must register your business and wait for admin verification before customers can buy your products. Providing false business details is grounds for rejection or removal.
B. Volume partnership fee (commission)
Deepbring Express may charge shop owners a volume partnership fee on delivered cash-on-delivery orders once a store reaches an admin-defined number of delivered orders in a calendar day (currently designed around ten or more delivered orders that day). The exact rate and threshold are set by Deepbring administrators and may change. Amounts owed appear in the shop owner app; the partnership rate itself may remain hidden in the interface and be stated in these terms or a written shop agreement. Accrual is based on delivered orders only. Cancelled or abandoned orders do not create a partnership fee, but systematic cancellations to avoid volume fees are prohibited.
C. Fee control
Shop owners cannot set platform-wide transport or Deepbring service fees. Those remain admin-only. Riders may be coordinated by shop owners, but the transport fee amount charged to customers is still set by Deepbring for now and may be revised later.
D. Partnership fee settlement (COD era)
While cash on delivery is the primary payment method, partnership fees are remitted offline and confirmed in the app. Fees are grouped by accrual day. For each day with amounts owed, you must remit the amount due to Deepbring Express and submit a settlement in the app with a remittance reference or receipt number (and optional notes) so Deepbring can verify payment. The due window is set per business by Deepbring administrators. The recommended default is fourteen (14) days from the accrual day; administrators may set a longer or shorter window for a particular shop (for example month-end remittance). After you submit, Deepbring reviews and may approve or reject the submission. Approval marks that day settled. Rejection returns the day to unpaid with a reason, and due and late-charge rules continue to apply. Push notifications and dashboard reminders are part of this process; ignoring them does not waive amounts owed or delay charges. Future wallet or online-payment deduction may replace offline remittance when those features go live.
E. Late settlement charges
If you do not submit settlement for an accrual day within your due window, Deepbring may add a delay charge equal to a configured percentage of the outstanding amount for that day (recommended default: one percent (1%)). That charge may be applied once for each overdue period equal to your configured fine period (recommended default: the same length as your due window, for example every fourteen days you remain late). While a submission is pending verification, further delay charges for that day pause; if Deepbring rejects the submission, delay charges may resume. Delay charges are only for late settlement, not a separate partnership rate increase.
F. Honesty and fee avoidance
Undercounting sales, splitting orders to stay under the daily threshold, or completing Deepbring-sourced sales offline to avoid fees is a material breach of these terms.
Customers
G. Customer conduct
Place orders you intend to receive and pay for under COD rules. Abuse of riders, shop staff, or Deepbring support may lead to account suspension. Tip and feedback features, if offered, remain optional.
H. Acceptance of platform charges
By confirming checkout you accept the item total, transport fee, and Deepbring service fee shown. You acknowledge that shop owners may also be subject to separate volume partnership fees payable to Deepbring; those shop fees are not an extra line item on your customer receipt unless Deepbring expressly adds one later.
